How My Brain Works

A loose but accurate process

The Spiral

I collect way too many references, get overwhelmed, then pretend I planned that. Somewhere in the chaos, one idea refuses to leave me alone. That's the one.

The Commitment

I pick a direction and go all in — grids, palettes, fifteen versions of the same headline. This is the part where I talk to myself out loud a concerning amount.

The Polish

Everything gets nudged by two pixels until it feels right, which is a feeling I cannot explain but will absolutely defend in a meeting.

Beyond the Studio

Apparently a full-time design job wasn't enough self-inflicted chaos, so I also hand-paint jackets for fun — usually finished about an hour before I have to leave for the festival or the show.

Outside work

Painting jackets, taking photos, drowning my heart in breakdowns (the metal kind, not the emotional kind — though some days it's both), and losing entire evenings to video games. Balance is a myth and I've made peace with that.
